Final Report Committee of Independent Experts

The Committee was appointed in April 2016 by President Juan Carlos Varela.

Final Report with the recommendations of the Committee of Independent Experts for the transparency of the international financial and services platform, which proposes measures to strengthen corporate, financial and legal systems so that Panama leads the efforts of the international community to build a new global financial architecture.

The Committee was appointed in April 2016 by the President Juan Carlos Varela and integrated by Roberto Artavia, who was rector of the Business School INCAE Business School; Nicolás Ardito Barletta, former president of the Republic and director of the National Center for the Development of Competitiveness; Domingo Latorraca, partner-director of Deloitte; Alberto Alemán Zubieta, ex-administrator of the Panama Canal and president of ABCO Global Inc .; Gisela Álvarez de Porras, former Director General of Revenue and  Vice Minister of Commerce and Industries.

The commissioners Stiglitz (United States), Nobel Prize in Economics and Mark Pieth (Switzerland), Professor of Criminal Law and Criminology at the University of Basel worked together with the Committee for several months and announced their retirement from the group in August 2016.
